Almuni Reunion Luncheon Sept. 28, 2013 Video

We had 35 almuni gathered in Briar's restaurant in Briarcliff Manor, NY on September 28th. 2013 some flew in from California (Bendars) and drove up all the way from Carolina ( Ed. W.).    Here is the video taken during the short updates by everyone.       Regrettably due to the error in pushing wrong button, some of the attendants lost their turn to appear in the video..... sorry!

Polychrome Almuni Reunion Sept. 28, 2013

Another successful get together of long lost friends!   (your face looks familiar but what is your name?) Thank you very much for traveling all the way from West Coast, Carolina, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, upstate New York, etc.     Recurring comments have been that Polychrome was "family like"," best of all", "fun" . "hard working" company.     Again this year, we
failed to take a group picture but here are some snapshots of the gathering.

at the Drupa 86

Gregory von Gruenberg came from Germany so naturally he spoke fluent German and he worked in R&D.     Coupled with his outgoing and likable personality, he was an ideal person to support Polychrome' s booth at the Drupa which was the biggest graphic arts show in the world held every 4th year in Dusseldorf in Germany.           His wife Annelise recently gave me a copy of Drupa 86 in which Gregory helps out not only in the supporting of the technical presentation but also himself in the Broadway show-like presentation with singing and dancing girls.     The video is about 1 hour long and besides Polychrome covers entire ground showing competitor's booth as well.         Someday if there is enough interest in seeing what others were like, I could upload entire video.      But it would be rather boring to most of the Polychrome friends.     So here it is, only the Polychrome portion.        You will see PC32PN, a two headed monster....or one processor processing both positive and negative plates with separate dedicated developing sections.      This was our answer to some competition claiming one plate could be used both as a negative and a positive plate.    You also see Co-Racer by DIC, projection platemaking system and OPC 2000.         We were growing up from a small consumable material manufacturing company to a system offering

Photo album for Mr. Halpern

When Mr. Halpern retired in 1981, Gregory von Gruenberg made a photo album for Mr. Halpern.     Annelise von Gruenberg, his wife kept his original photos and a photo album.        Here is the copy of his positive slides.     We were all very young then!      Thanks Annelise for sharing.
